Please bring your basic class kit, your favorite adhesive and pop dots. Also bring your favorite coloring mediums. Please let us know if you require special paper so that we may prepare your kit. (ie: copic markers)
I used Prima's new watercolor pencils to color the images. These pencils are so much fun to color with!

Mixed Media Canvas featuring ColourArte
ColourArte products can be purchased at many Local Scrapbook/Papercraft Stores or direct through the ColourArte Website.
Good Morning Crafty Peeps! I am so excited to be here with you today to share a Mixed Media Canvas that is FULL of shimmery ColourArte goodness.
Here is our project. It is super easy and FUN to create.

Additional Products:
5x7 Flat Canvas Panel
Palate Knife
Background Stencil (any kind)
Paper Clay and Molds (you may use any decorative elements that can be painted)
Clear Gesso
White Gesso
Crackled Texture Paste
Water Spray Bottle (mini mister will also work)
Rosette Ribbon
Flowers
Heat Tool
Beacon 3 in 1 wet adhesive
Bind and Resist Powder
Clear Acrylic Glaze
Non stick craft mat
small round paintbrush
Directions: Following each step, dry the canvas with your Heat Tool.
1. Apply THIN layer of Clear Gesso to 5x7 canvas using your palate knife.. Does not have to be neat or perfect.
2. Using your palate knife, apply White Gesso very randomly across your canvas using a scraping motion. Not looking to cover the entire canvas, just bits and part of it.
3. Place Stencil on the canvas and use your palate knife to fill in random areas with Crackled Texture Paste. Allow to dry completely before you continue on.
4. Sour Lemon Radiant Rain - Spray in random areas on the canvas. Spray water so that it runs and drips down the canvas. Leave plenty of white space as you can add more layers later.
5. Peach Fuzz Radiant Rain - Repeat step #4. Let the color run over parts of the Sour Lemon. The colors/mica blend nicely.

6. Arrange your Flowers, Ribbon and decorative elements into a pleasing arrangement.
Glue everything down with waterproof adhesive.
7. I made my decorative elements out of paper clay and a mold in had in my stash. I covered them with White Gesso. Look for fun items in your stash and be sure to prime with white gesso.

Now comes the FUN Part!
We are going to PAINT with our Primary Elements Artist Pigment
and Radiant Rain Sprays!
Yes we can paint with powders and sprays!
8. Make Paint with Primary Elements Artist Pigments
Using your palate knife, make three small and separate piles of each powder.
I mixed them on my non stick craft mat.
Mix each powder with clear acrylic glaze.
Watch the magic happen....you have three beautiful shimmery paints to play with.
I painted my decorative elements (butterflies and a frame) with the three paints. Layer your colors and make your elements shimmer.
9. Make MORE paint. This time we will follow step #8, with one exception....
Instead of mixing the powders with glaze, we will mix with a powder binder and leave it dry.
The binder is important because that is how the powders stick to your surface.
10. Using your paintbrush, take the powder and drop small piles of pigment in random places.
I placed the pigments in my rose ribbon, on the background, etc.
Spray water in the areas where you dropped the dry pigment and let it drip and blend.
The idea is to bring the colors from the decorative elements into the background to balance the colors throughout the piece.
11. Now we will "paint" with our Radiant Rain Sprays
Shake your sprays to mix the mica and pigment.
Grab your small round paint brush and dip it in the bottle and paint some of the decorative elements so that the background colors balance throughout the piece as well.

We can see that by combining the background and foreground colors help to create peace and harmony in our piece.
Final Step: Spray the entire canvas with Ice Radiant Rain! The spray adds just the right touch of shimmery goodness to your art!

These ornaments ate totally FUN to create! We will use stamps and our Twinkling H20 watercolor paints to create these HAPPY and FUN winter ornaments.
Stamps are by Stampendous, Impression Obsession and Dina Wakely.
